Helen Keller was an American author, disability rights advocate, and political activist who overcame immense physical challenges. After losing both her sight and hearing to an illness at nineteen months old, she learned to communicate with the world through the dedicated guidance of her teacher, Anne Sullivan. This breakthrough allowed her to graduate from college, becoming the first deafblind person in the world to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree.
