Who said it?

Colette is the pen name of novelist Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette (1873-1954). Always and only referred to by her mononym, she has been called the most beloved French writer of all time. Best known for her 1944 novella Gigi, her writing masterfully explored female sexuality, sensuality, and the complexities of independence in a male-dominated society. Colette became the first woman in France to receive a state funeral.
